A sensitive restoration to maintain the original 1840s wrought iron construction of the William Turner glass house at the National Botanic Gardens.
Refurbishment of the historic Turner glass house. Each panel of glass had four specially extruded PVC spacers fitted to prevent its edges from touching the frame.
A modern, paintable, polyurethane based sealant was then used in lieu of putty and was used to structurally glaze the curved glass panels adding stiffness to the overall structure.
